Football - Sunderland close in on O'Shea

Manchester United defender John O'Shea is expected to complete his transfer to Sunderland, 10/1 with bet365 to be relegated this season, next week.

The Republic of Ireland international will become boss Steve Bruce's sixth capture of the summer following the arrivals of Craig Gardner, Connor Wickham, Seb Larsson, Ji Dong-won and Keiren Westwood.

O'Shea's current team-mates at United, 7/4 to retain the Premier League title, Wes Brown and Darron Gibson, are also understood to be targets for Bruce, who has indicated that he may dip into the loan market.

Boxing - Haye vows not to freeze

David Haye, 15/8 with bet365 to win by a knockout, technical knockout or disqualification, is confident he will be too good for Wladimir Klitschko and become the undisputed world champion at two weight divisions.

The Ukrainian, 6/5 to win the bout, will be defending his WBO and IBF titles in the biggest heavyweight fight since Lennox Lewis beat Mike Tyson in 2002.

Haye, who unified the cruiserweight world titles before stepping up to heavyweight in 2008, said: "It's for nights like these that I started boxing so there's no way I'm going to freeze or fall apart.

Tennis - Sharapova expects tough battle

Maria Sharapova, 11/8 with bet365 to win the match in straight sets, is expecting a difficult battle against Petra Kvitova in the women's final at Wimbledon.

The Russian is eyeing a second title at SW19 following her victory in 2004, and a fourth Grand Slam after also winning the US Open in 2006 and the Australian Open two years later.

Injuries have taken their toll on Sharapova since she burst onto the tennis scene as a teenager and she said in the build-up to her clash with Kvitova, 6/4 to win the crown: "I expect her to be a really tough opponent."
